With gas, our job is making sure nobody hits it. We trace steel and PE gas pipes with electromagnetic locators and tracer-wire systems, mark them out on the ground and, where it matters, pothole with hydro-vac to confirm exact position and depth before any excavation.
We also install the civil side of new gas connections — the trench, the duct and the reinstatement — alongside your gasfitter. We don’t detect gas leaks: that’s a job for your gas supplier or a certified gasfitter.

With multiple high-voltage cables traced and marked out, duct and drainage tracing, water mains tracing and multiple communications cables in the vicinity, the project required our specialist services and expertise.

Rural Power Mains Installation in North Waikato
Utility Works was commissioned to install a new power mains cable on a rural North Waikato property. The project involved existing services detection, excavator trenching, and hydro-vac works to keep the trench clear due to in-flow during the project, followed by installation of the three-phase cable and final connect and commission. The project was completed on time and within budget.
